How is the theme of love represented in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? |

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows offers a multitude of themes to the reader, including: the saving power of love, redemption, the importance of friendship, and forgiveness.

The power of love is addressed throughout the novel on multiple levels.  Severus Snape's story encompasses this theme; through his memories in the pensieve, Harry learns that Snape's love for his mother turned his allegiance to the side of the Light and that Snape has loved her all this time.

Harry's love for his friends leads him to offer himself to Voldemort during the Battle of Hogwarts, knowing from the pensieve visions that he carries Voldemort's horcrux and must die to save his loved ones.

His sacrifice protects him in the end from Voldemort's killing curse, enabling Harry to defeat Voldemort in their final show down.

Love conquers all.
